My religion? I’m glad you asked.

Holy Mother the Church was the name of an aircraft carrier hundreds of miles at sea. Many of us climbed into our P-38’s one day and flew off to do battle under Holy Michael the Archangel. After a terrible day of fighting the Heathens, Pagans, Protestants, Israelites and all other enemies of the Holy Creed, “Extra ecclesiam nulla salus,” and running low on fuel, we returned to our convoy to find that Admiral Vatican II, with no warning to us, had repositioned the fleet and we were forced to ditch. That pretty much sums it up for me. 😠
